SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has stressed the importance of education in shaping knowledgeable and competitive future generations, particularly as the field advances into the digital era.
“Educators should embrace digital tools in classrooms to enrich students’ learning experiences, preparing them for the challenges of the digital world,” he said when officiating at the gala dinner of the state-level Education Service Sports and Cultural Association Festival (PSKPP) at Dewan SMK St. Anthony on Sunday.
The dinner was attended by representatives from the Sarawak Education Department and district education officers from Sarikei, Meradong and Julau.
Huang who is also Member of Parliament for Sarikei and Repok assemblyman, extended a warm welcome to the PSKPP contingents from across Sarawak, hoping their time in Sarikei would bring unforgettable experiences.
“In addition to highlighting the close relationship between education and sports, the 1 Student 1 Sport initiative for fostering a balanced and healthy generation is a good initiative.
“It is very important for education professionals to view PSKPP as a platform to showcase and strengthen their talents in sports and culture, as sports play a critical role in job satisfaction and mental wellbeing,” he added.
He commended the harmony and unity among Sarawak’s diverse communities under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He expressed pride in Sarawak being a model of unity in Malaysia.
