KUCHING: The Association Churches of Sarawak (ACS) has called on everyone to build and strengthen the harmonious and peaceful coexistence by sowing and nurturing the seeds of harmony, understanding and respect.
In his message for Deepavali celebration, ACS Chairman Datuk Danald Jute said while there was no denial in terms of the differences, everyone must acknowledge that they have more in common than what separates them.
“Our differences are a cause for celebration and not division. This is how we can build a better, stronger and more united Sarawak and Malaysia,” he advocated.
In his closing remark, he wished all Hindu, Sikhs and Jain communities Happy Deepavali, as the communities mark and celebrate the festival of the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
“May you have a blessed and joyful celebration of Deepavali,” he said.
