25 JKKKs receive state incentives SARIKEI: A total of 25 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) here received a one-off incentive of RM5,000 each from the Sarawak government to strengthen village leadership and empower local communities. The incentive approval certificates were presented by Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh. In his speech, Len highlighted the importance of integrity in fund management, stating that incentive is not merely financial aid but also aims to encourage active involvement of JKKKs in village development and community activities. “So far, 61 JKKKs in the Sarikei District have applied, with 25 approved under N.41 Kuala Rajang state constituency. “We want JKKK-managed villages to be cleaner, well-organised, and peaceful,” he said during the Incentive Approval Certificate Presentation Ceremony at the Rooftop of the Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) Building here on Thursday. Len also urged Community and Village Chiefs (KMKK) to ensure that each JKKK holds regular meetings and meets the set key performance indicators (KPI) to qualify for the Meeting Handling Allowance (EPM) and Meeting Attendance Allowance (EKM). As an added incentive, he recognised active JKKKs such as JKKK Bunga Tanjong, Kampung Selalang, JKKK Rh Johnnie, and JKKK Jalan Century for their consistency in submitting meeting reports and organising community programmes.
