MIRI: Sixty-one farmers from the Senadin constituency have received agricultural project input aid valued at RM304,939 to support small-scale farming initiatives.
Transport Minister and Senadin assembly assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said the aid is poised to have a positive impact on local farming.
“With this assistance, I hope to see an increase in crop yields, which will in turn boost the income of our farmers,” he said during the aid handover ceremony held at Department of Agriculture office here on Friday.
He explained that the initiative is designed to support farmers in increasing their crop yields, particularly for vegetables and fruits, by providing essential equipment and agricultural supplies.
Lee also said the Department of Agriculture is ready to offer guidance and training to those keen on adopting modern agricultural technologies to enhance their farming methods.
According to the Miri Department of Agriculture’s records, a total of 167 farmers have benefited from various types of agricultural assistance since 2020, with a total allocation of RM1,487,055.70.
