Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the mosque also serves as a centre for social activities, community service and education.

“Various programmes can be implemented here, including welfare activities, spreading knowledge, tazkirah (reminders), and community assistance efforts that aim to strengthen bonds across different social levels.

“With its modern design and facilities, I hope this mosque provides comfort to the community and encourages active participation in beneficial programmes to promote its role.

“This mosque not only fulfills spiritual needs but also cultivates exemplary individuals for life in this world and the hereafter.”

Len Talif made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the mosque in Kampung Jerijeh yesterday.

He added that the Al-Haj Mosque is fully funded through allocations from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

The mosque can accommodate up to 1,000 worshipers at a time and is equipped with air conditioners, carpets and fans, which were donated by the public.

Furthermore, Len Talif, who is the Kuala Rajang assemblyman, highlighted that other developments and facilities have also been introduced in Kampung Jerijeh.

“This village has also received a RM20 million allocation for the Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) under the Premier People’s Project to enhance local development quality.

“Various other facilities are being provided, such as a community hall worth RM1.6 million through the RTP and the redevelopment of SK Abang Buyuk valued at RM8.7 million under the Sarawak Poor School Development Scheme.

“With these initiatives, we hope to create a more comfortable and organised environment that contributes to the economic and social development of the area.”

In addition, Len Talif expressed hopes that the mosque would function effectively in line with religious ideals, serving as a centre for knowledge development, economic empowerment, and human capital development, while embodying the purity of Islamic teachings.
