KUCHING: Former DAP Sarawak vice chairman Leon Jimat Donald has officially applied to join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
He submitted his membership form on October 15.
“After a hiatus from active politics, I’ve chosen PBB as the platform to re-engage and contribute to the community in Sri Aman,” Leon said in a statement.
He added that PBB’s leadership, transparency, and “Sarawak First” focus resonated with him.
He expressed his eagerness to connect with like-minded individuals and work with the community in Sri Aman.
He extended his gratitude to PBB Balai Ringin Division, particularly chief Petrus Igat Mathius and deputy chief Janggong Sambut, for their warm reception of his application.
Leon, a former DAP Sri Aman chairman, previously contested the Simanggang seat in three state elections without success.
He left DAP in January 2022.
