MIRI: A fire claimed the life of a young girl at Jalan Grand Park 3A/3, here in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from the Lopeg Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving an emergency call at 3.06 am.
The blaze involved two one-story semi-detached houses of permanent structure, each spanning approximately 20 by 30 feet.
One of the homes was engulfed in flames, while the neighbouring unit sustained partial damage, with flames affecting mainly the ceiling area.
The victim, identified as Yuan Ruohan, a Chinese national, was found in the charred remains of one of the houses.
Details surrounding the cause of the fire are still under investigation.
