BAU: A local man sustained a broken right arm following a car accident near in Kampung Nowang Sibuluh, Jalan Bau-Lundu yesterday (Nov 5).

The injured victim being loaded onto an emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) ambulance for transport to Bau Hospital.

The accident happened at around 6.55 pm when a Perodua Kelisa, driven by the 27-year-old victim with a female passenger on board, skidded off the road and crashed into a ditch.

Firefighters from Bau station who were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call had to use rescue tools to extricate the injured driver from the vehicle.

Once freed, the man received preliminary treatment on-site before being transported to Bau Hospital for further medical attention.

Meanwhile, his 27-year-old passenger reportedly escaped the accident unharmed.

The team ended the operation at 7.21 pm.
