Arts and creative industries a level up with MoU

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and National Arts Gallery signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the university here yesterday.

The MoU aims to provide space for Unimas and the National Arts Gallery to collaborate and share knowledge on various issues related to the arts and creative industries.

Among the contents of the agreement are joint training programmes, research, consultation, publications, conferences, teaching and learning.

The agreement is part of an ongoing effort by the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts to play a role as a catalyst to scientific research and quality publications.

Among the event to be held soon is the eCITRA exhibition which will take place at the Langkawi National Arts Gallery from March 23 to 31. The exhibition is themed ‘DigitalXCulture’ and is aimed at creating artwork using digital technology and mixed media.

Among those present were Unimas vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, National Arts Gallery director-general Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Najib Ahmad Dawa and Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts dean Associate Prof Dr Musdi Shanat.
