BINTULU: Police have arrested two men, including a foreign national, to assist in investigations into a shooting incident on the fourth floor of a hotel parking lot here (Nov 7).
According to Bintulu police chief Supt. Nixon Joshua Ali, the suspects, both in their 40s, were arrested in Miri after fleeing the crime scene.
“Following the arrest, the police seized a vehicle believed to be involved in the case.
“A remand application will be submitted to the Bintulu Magistrate’s Court, and investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
Nixon stressed that the police would not compromise with any individuals or groups involved in criminal acts.
“The police are committed to tracking down those involved in this case and urge the public not to speculate about the incident, which is still under investigation,” he added.

This morning, a 1 minute and 30 seconds video was circulated online showing two men shooting and chasing a man before repeatedly attacking the victim with a machete.
The victim, a local man, was found covered in blood and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
