KUCHING: Hope FC coach Bryan Cheong believes that staying united as a team will help his team bounce back after suffering two consecutive defeats in the Liga Bandaraya.

Despite a strong start to the season, the team has recently faced setbacks, losing to Mix Hajiba FC and to Mahkota FC.

With these defeats fresh in their minds, Bryan stressed that teamwork as a family unit would be crucial for their recovery.

“We’re coming off two tough losses, but my players are now more aware of the mistakes we have made that cost us some important points.

“That awareness will help us move forward and be more focused as we prepare for the next game,” Bryan told Sarawak Tribune.

Currently sitting 9th in the league with 3 wins and 3 losses, Hope FC will be looking to turn things around in the coming weeks.

Bryan is confident that his players, motivated by the recent setbacks, will be more determined to prove themselves.

“Losing has made them hungry for success by showing that we can beat other teams and demonstrate our quality to each other.

“This self-reflection will only make us stronger,” he said as he noted that while the team will take a much-needed break this week, it’s important to continue preparing for the long season ahead.

With some key players sidelined due to injuries, Bryan emphasised the need for an internal technical and tactical discussions.

“We have a long season, and after a few tough games, the boys deserve this break.

“But we will use the time to make some important adjustments and focus on improving. Ultimately, our strength lies in our togetherness-not just as a team, but as a family,” he explained.
