KUCHING: Constructive views from the public are important to ensure the government initiatives align with the current needs of the community, said

Deputy Minister in the Premier Department (Corporate Affairs, Information & UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol.

In stating this, he said that without feedback from the community, government initiatives cannot be fully achieved and realised.

“Any government policy and initiative will not meet its target sometimes because we create these initiatives without understanding the community’s ‘taste’,” he said.

Abdullah stated this when officiating the Kita MADANI Carnival 2024, representing Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Penview Convention Centre (PCC) Demak here yesterday.

Meanwhile, he urged Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK) as well as youth to provide feedback through the proper channels.

He explained that this would allow government agencies to operate more efficiently and understand the people’s needs.

“It should not be a one-way flow of information only. The government needs to receive feedback from the public about their concerns and anxieties, especially regarding how the government operates.

“This way, each government policy can be formulated, structured, and tailored to meet the community’s needs and preferences,” he explained.
