ASAJAYA: A local man who got lost in a swamp forest near Kampung Jaie, Sadong Jaya, was found safe yesterday (Nov 11).
Earlier in the day, the 40-year-old had ventured into the swamp to look for snails but lost his way. He then contacted authorities for assistance.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Asajaya station were dispatched to the scene, about 15km away, after receiving a distress call at 7.32pm.
Before the team arrived, the man was found unharmed at 7.55pm by the police and local residents. He was safely escorted back to his home.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team returned to their station.
