MIRI: An accident involving three vehicles this morning (Nov 12) in Kampung Satap, Bekenu, left three men injured, including two who were trapped in one of the vehicles.

The accident, which occurred at 9.45am, involved a Proton Iswara, an Isuzu D-Max 4×4, and a lorry.

A team of firefighters from the Batu Niah Rescue Station rushed to the scene immediately after receiving an emergency call.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that two men, aged 18 and 20, were pinned inside the Proton Iswara, which had veered off the road and crashed into a ditch on the left shoulder along with the Isuzu D-Max.

The men were extricated by rescue personnel and sustained injuries from the crash.

A 68-year-old man, who had been driving the Isuzu D-Max, sustained chest injuries after hitting the steering wheel.

Meanwhile, two passengers in the lorry emerged unscathed.

The injured individuals were handed over to medical personnel for further treatment.

The rescue operation concluded at 11.28 am.
