KUCHING: The highly anticipated Setia Raja MuFA Football Championship 2024 (LSRM2024) will kick off on Nov 30, with 20 teams vying for the prestigious title in what promises to be an exhilarating tournament.
The competition will feature a diverse lineup of clubs from various regions, with a particularly strong presence from Mukah.
This year’s edition has attracted significant interest, and the full quota of teams has now been confirmed, ensuring an exciting and competitive atmosphere throughout the tournament.
“We’ve received tremendous interest for LSRM2024.
“With 20 confirmed teams, this edition promises to be one of the most thrilling yet,” said Khairul Anuar Adeni, president of the Mukah Football Association (MuFA), to Sarawak Tribune.
Of the 20 teams, 12 will come from Mukah, while the remaining eight will represent other districts.
Among the competitors are three teams each from Bintulu and Sibu, and two teams from Sarikei and Dalat.
Khairul also highlighted some exciting new features for this year’s tournament.
“We have a unique addition this year-a team made up entirely of Chinese players, representing a club from Sibu.
“Additionally, we’re allowing each team to field up to two foreign import players, which will add an extra layer of competition and skill to the tournament,” he said.
LSRM2024 is set to be a thrilling showcase of local football talent, with teams battling for supremacy in a highly competitive environment.
Fans can expect a month of action-packed matches, as the region’s best teams compete for the coveted title.
