Five foreigners nabbed for immigration offences

LAWAS: Five foreign men, who had just returned from shopping, were arrested by the Immigration Enforcement Unit near Sungai Sloating last Tuesday (Nov 12).

According to the Sarawak Immigration Department, they were taken into custody for overstaying, lacking valid travel documents and lacking valid permits to stay in Malaysia.

The cases are being investigated under the Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

In light of this, the public is encouraged to report any information regarding the presence of undocumented migrants in their areas through online channels or directly to the nearest Immigration Enforcement Office.
