KUCHING: Musyati Sdn Bhd has commenced a RM90 million mixed development project here, with completion targeted for Nov 14, 2026.
The project site was handed over by Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) president Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan to Musyati Sdn Bhd Executive Director Abdul Rahman Ahmad during a symbolic ceremony, witnessed by DUBS Holding Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Abdul Kadier Sahib yesterday (Nov 15). This marks the commencement of the 24-month construction contract period.
Awarded by the Sarawak government to DUBS in 2021, the project will be built on a 1.39-acre plot located at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee.
In a statement, it said that the project comprises two seven-storey blocks connected by a link bridge at the top three levels.
“It will feature 87 commercial office units, the DUBS corporate office with a multi-purpose resource centre, 11 retail outlets on the ground floor, and a parking facility for 185 cars and 72 motorcycles spread across the basement and second level,” it said.
Inspired by the DUBS logo, the statement said that the iconic design of the complex symbolises the entrepreneurial spirit, pride, and humility of the multi-ethnic Bumiputera business communities in Sarawak.
“The land given by the Sarawak government to DUBS serves as recognition of the Bumiputera business communities’ participation in the state’s development.
“The DUBS logo itself symbolises and represents the strong spirit, dynamic nature, and stability of the organisation.
“Upon completion of the complex, it will serve as a catalyst for growth, enabling Sarawak’s Bumiputera business communities to play an active role in line with the state government’s vision of ‘Sarawak Maju Makmur’, aiming for developed region status by 2030,” it said.
For the record, the tender for the project was issued in August 2024 and closed on September 13, 2024.
Following a thorough evaluation, the Majlis Eksekutif Dewan (MED) of DUBS accepted the bid from Musyati Sdn Bhd during its Full Council Meeting on October 23, 2024.
The official Letter of Acceptance was issued on November 1, 2024, confirming the contract value as RM80.23 million.
The development is partially funded through a grant from the Sarawak government, along with internal and external funding secured by DUBS.
