Teenagers perished in road accident

BAU: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two youth and left one seriously injured on Friday evening (Nov 15).
The incident occurred around 7.30 pm at KM 10.5 on the Bau-Kuching road.
According to Bau District Police Chief DSP Dr. Daram Ruer, a 15-year-old motorcyclist and his 18-year-old pillion rider were killed after their Yamaha Lagenda collided with multiple vehicles.
“The motorcycle, which was entering the road from the Kampung Peninjau junction, collided with the rear of an MPV. The impact caused the motorcycle to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with an SUV and a Perodua Myvi,” he said in a statement.
The SUV driver sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urging witnesses to come forward.
