MIRI: The Noah’s Ark Sarawak Project and the Persatuan Kebajikan Bantu Sarawak (PKBKTS) recently held an Excellent Student Award ceremony to honour the academic accomplishments of Penan children.

This initiative, spearheaded by Noah’s Ark Miri Kindergarten under its free education programme, aims to uplift Penan children who face significant barriers to education.

The ceremony recognized five outstanding students with certificates of academic achievement for their exceptional dedication, particularly in maintaining high attendance.

The recipients of the awards were Adeline Shirlyn Stanley, Aurelia Eviana, Naftaliy Jalong Angun, Nafisa Joshua, and Ventaniel Lekok Angelina.

Their achievements stand as a testament to the determination of the Penan community to embrace education despite the challenges they encounter.

The success of the event was attributed to the tireless efforts of Noah’s Ark Project Coordinators in Miri, Nelly Lut and Bonita Lai, and the generous contributions from supporters.

Donations of school clothes, textbooks, kitchen supplies, and financial assistance have been pivotal in sustaining this initiative.
