MIRI: A two-day Community Development Programme under Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew’s Rakyat Project concluded successfully at Kampung Haji Wahed today (Nov 17).

The initiative aimed to bring government policies closer to the grassroots and improve community well-being.

“This programme is a key effort under the Rakyat Project to foster community awareness in various aspects of our daily lives,” Ting said during the closing ceremony.

“It serves to enhance the well-being of our communities.”

The event featured a variety of activities, including health briefings on personal hygiene and environmental care, health screenings for early disease detection, lucky draws to appreciate attendees and rice distribution to those in need.

Ting hoped that the programme would be a catalyst for future initiatives to support the village.

“Together, we can preserve, care for, and develop the village into a healthier, more harmonious, and sustainable community,” he added.
