MIRI: A house in Kampung Masjid, Kuala Baram, was completely destroyed in a fire incident today (Nov 17), leaving a family of eight homeless.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre received a distress call at 3.57 pm, prompting immediate deployment of firefighters from Balai Lutong and Lopeng.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control using machinery pumps and water sourced from nearby open areas.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as all of them escaped unharmed.
The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
