SIBU: A total of 104 participants took part in the Lions International District 308-A2 Regions 2 & 3 “STRIDES – Walk For Diabetes”, held at Star Mega Mall here on Saturday.
The participants were from 16 Lions Clubs and four Leo Clubs.
According to a statement from Lions International District 308-A2 & 3, STRIDES – Walk For Diabetes is an annual event organised by the Lions Clubs and participated by Lions members and the community for raising awareness about diabetes and its prevention.
This year, it stated, in conjunction with the World Diabetes Day, the Regions 2 & 3 Lions Club and Leo Clubs came together to participate in this walk around Star Mega Mall.
The event was jointly flagged off by the owner cum chairman of Star Mega Mall, Datuk Lau Ngie Hua and Past District 308-A2 Governor, Lion Augustine Ngu Liong Ing.
The participants were presented with a pin from Lions International together with a certificate of participation.
