KUCHING: Excitement is building for the upcoming “Piala Pusingan YB Dato Sri Hajjah Nancy Shukri” pickleball tournament, which will take place in Santubong from January 17 to 19, 2025.

The three-day event, announced by Mohd Kamaludin Mohd Effendie, Political Secretary to Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, will 

be hosted in her constituency and is open to teams of all backgrounds. 

“The tournament welcomes teams from all backgrounds to join.

“The team events will feature three exciting ties—Men’s Doubles, Veteran Men’s Doubles, and Women’ Doubles,” said Mohd.Kamaludin in a statement yesterday.

The tournament will also feature categories such as the Men’s Singles (Open & Veteran), Mixed Doubles (Age Group), and Ladies’ Open Doubles. A special VIP game will also be part of the festivities.

Organised by the P.193 Service Centre in collaboration with the RB Rinduk Pickleball Club and Kelab Rekreasi Berrimbai, the event will be held across ten courts in Santubong, including facilities at Damai Beach Resort, Damai Golf & Country Club, RB Homestay & Farms, and Dewan Santubong.

“Finals of the tournament may be held at Damai Beach Resort or Damai Golf & Country Club, giving us the flexibility to offer a spectacular finish to this exciting competition,” said Mohd Kamaludin.

With a total prize pool of RM15,000, the tournament promises to deliver thrilling competitions, skills, and sportsmanships. It is endorsed by the Kuching Pickleball Association (KPA), ensuring high standards of organisation.
