ONE of Malaysia’s most prestigious international beauty pageants, unveiled its 2024 event lineup at a grand press conference held at the Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil.

With participants from 34 nations, Miss CosmoWorld 2024 is raising the bar in promoting beauty, talent, and cultural diversity on a truly global scale.

This year, the pageant also offers a remarkable prize pool totalling approximately RM1 million, adding to the excitement for contestants and fans alike.

YM Tengku Datuk Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi Bin YAM Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj, who is the Guest of Honour, supports the pageant’s mission to empower women globally through beauty, talent, and philanthropy.

Founded by Carrie Lee, a renowned Malaysian beauty queen, and led by organising chairwoman Tay Cheah, Miss CosmoWorld has quickly become a beacon of international unity and empowerment.

An impressive lineup of contestants was seen at the ballroom in Hyatt Place, Bukit Jalil, where each showcased her home country’s cultural heritage in costume with a story and aspiration to the stage.

The contestant from Indonesia, Wina Maing, wore a golden Komodo national costume from East Nusa Tenggara Province, which consists of hundreds of islands, famed for the Komodo dragons.

Another eye-catching contestant is from the Philippines. Samantha Viktoria Acosta wore Singkil, showcasing the Maranao people’s rich heritage. The headdress and fans embody Maranao dignity and royal heritage.

The pageant week promises excitement, culminating in the Grand Finals at the St. Regis Hotel Kuala Lumpur today (Wednesday) November 20, 2024. 

The contestants are all set to vie for the prestigious Miss CosmoWorld title and the chance to share the approximately prize pool, alongside opportunities to engage in charitable causes and personal growth initiatives.

Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil, this year’s hotel sponsor, provides the perfect setting for the launch event, combining elegance and style in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking at the press conference, Carrie remarked, “Miss CosmoWorld is more than just a pageant. It is a platform for women around the world to share their stories, showcase their talents, and work toward common goals of empowerment, charity, and cultural connection.”
