SERIAN: A female passenger sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision at Mile 29, Jalan Kuching-Serian this morning.
The accident, involving a Proton Saga and a three-tonne lorry, happened at around 11.20am.
Firefighters from Serian station were dispatched to the scene, about 16km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team discovered the 21-year-old woman trapped in the front passenger seat of the Proton Saga, with her leg pinned. Rescue works were immediately performed and the injured passenger was successfully extricated.
Once freed, she was handed over to the paramedics for initial treatment before being transported to Serian Hospital for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, the drivers of both vehicles, aged 23 and 43, escaped unscathed in the accident.
The team ended the operation at 12.05pm.
