SIBU: The Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Sibu Branch will organise a Community Health Programme at Permai Lake Garden here on Nov 30.
According to its chairman, Chambai Lindong, the programme is being organised in conjunction with SDNU’s Golden Jubilee Celebration, which falls on Dec 7.
“The objective of this Community Health Programme is to create awareness of the importance of staying healthy and leading a healthy lifestyle, particularly among our members, as well as the public in general.
“Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee has kindly consented to officiate the programme,” he said in a statement, Thursday (Nov 21).
The programme will begin with a mass aerobic exercise at 6.30am, followed by a Fun Walk around the lake garden, which will be flagged off at 7.30am.
“Those who wish to join the Fun Walk may register with Sammy Dennis at 019-8278103 no later than Nov 24.”
A health screening programme and blood donation drive will also be held at the same venue at 8am.
Both the blood donation drive and health screening are open to all members of the public.
“Our branch appeals to members of the public who wish to undergo health screening or those who intend to donate blood to attend the programme. Registration will be done on the spot at the venue.
