SERIAN: Police are on the hunt for a gang of armed robbers who stole goods worth over RM40,000 from a house in Kampung Panchor Dayak, Jalan Batu 29.

Serian police chief DSP Neil Beginda in a statement, said the crime was reported at 1.48am yesterday (Nov 23). 

“Investigations revealed that four men broke into the house by cutting through the front gate and entering through a window. 

“The stolen items included cash, jewellery, house keys, a laptop, a bank card, an identity card, a driving licence, car keys for a Toyota Avanza, and even dry food. The total losses incurred are estimated at RM40,700,” he said. 

Neil assured that efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the four suspects involved in the robbery. 

Those with any information regarding the incident are urged to report them to investigating officer Insp Rizal Nante at 082-874201 or the nearest police station. 

The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery using dangerous weapons.

If convicted, it provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 20 years and a fine, or whipping.
