MIRI: Volunteers from the Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s branch here reached out to two poor families at Lambir recently.

During the visit, the team brought along stainless-steel food containers to be distributed to the two families.

In this context its Welfare, Health & Community Sub-Committee chairperson, Dr Uma Devi talked to them about the dangers of plastics and the importance of cleanliness and healthy food.

“There was also a short briefing by Shobri Mohamed and Dayang Siti on the services provided by Miri City Council and ways to highlight related issues to the council.

The volunteers who participated in this project also contributed items such as food, soaps and other necessities.
