LAWAS: A house fire in Kampung Bukit Batu was quickly contained by alert neighbours today (Nov 26), preventing major damage.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at 9.33 am and dispatched firefighters from the Lawas station.
Upon arrival, the fire was already extinguished by neighbours.
Only a small portion of the kitchen and a refrigerator were damaged.
Firefighters ensured the area was safe before leaving the scene.
The cause of the fire is reported to be a short circuit.
