KUCHING: A carpenter from Kampung Kudei near here claimed he was attacked by his wife’s family member after asking his wife to return home.
The carpenter aged 38 said he met his mother-in-law at 9 pm in Satok near a food outlet on Monday and asked her to tell his wife to return home.
His mother-in-law however refused to answer him. He added that his wife has been staying with her mother for three months after they quarreled.
The carpenter said while he was talking to his mother-in-law to persuade his wife to return home, he was attacked by a member of his wife’s family with a sharp object. He injured his right hand in the attack.
In a separate case, a 59-year-old businessman lodged a police report yesterday claiming that around 8am on Monday his workshop at Jalan Bukit Mata here was broken into.
He said the workshop was in a mess and among the items stolen were alloy rims, cylinder head, exhaust silencer, battery, clutch iron and auto box oil.
The victim estimated that the break-in has cost him thousands of ringgit.
In another case, a pensioner aged 73 lodged a police report yesterday claiming that some items he left in the car porch of his house at Hua Joo Park, Jalan Tai Shin Jar were missing.
The victim claimed that among the items missing were a high pressure cleaner costing RM980, a bush cutter costing RM380, a pair of sports shoes costing RM350 and other items.
His estimated his losses at around RM2,000.
