MIRI: A tugboat crew was reported to have fallen into the river at 9am Wednesday.
According to sources, the tugboat was berthing at Kuala Baram when the incident happened.
The victim was walking on the wooden walkway connecting the tugboat to the riverbank when he suddenly lost balance and fell.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Sabri Zainol when contacted yesterday confirmed receiving a report lodged on the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Devender, 25, an Indian National.
The body has been taken to Miri hospital for a post mortem.
“The case is being classified as sudden death,” said Sabri.
