BINTULU: Twenty-one people had to move to a relief centre for six hours on Sunday after floods occurred at a squatter area at Batu 5 and Jalan Tun Hussein Onn following heavy rain.
The evacuees from four families were moved out at 2.43am to Bintulu Civic Centre and returned to their homes about 9am after the floods receded, according to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee secretariat.
In a statement, the secretariat expressed its appreciation to all agencies which attended to the flood victims. – Bernama
