Sarawak team manager, Hamzah Brahim.

KUCHING: The Sarawak squad may be facing a tough time when they meet old rivals Sabah in a Premier League match dubbed the ‘Borneo derby’ at the State Stadium here at 4.15pm today.

Based on their previous meetings since the 90s, the outcome was more favourable to Sabah.

“We do not put high hopes on the match but we will give them a run for the money,” said Sarawak team manager, Hamzah Brahim.

“With inspiration from the Borneo and Ngap Sayot spirit, we promise a match to look out for,” he said.

So far, the Crocs have won one match and lost two matches. They beat Penang 2-0 but lost to Selangor United 1-2 and 2-3 to Negeri Sembilan.

Hamzah believed the results were a positive development for the young team despite their narrow losses.  “We managed to score five goals in three matches and that’s what matters,” he added.

“Overall, I am pleased with their performances during the matches,” he said.
