KUCHING: An E-Preneurs application (app) to help women in Sarawak to market their products globally will be launched on March 9 here.

This was revealed by Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Woman, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Sri Fatimah Abdullah after attending the Sarawak Women and Family Council (MWKS) roundtable meeting at Hilton Hotel, yesterday.

“This initiative is done by the Sarawak Women and Family Department in order to help more women to reach a wider market,” she said.

She said by promoting their product online, more people would know their products at the same time to help increase their income especially for single mothers.

“Also when they market it online, they will only produce their products based on the orders received.

“For instance like food products, last time when a certain amount of products were produced and people don’t buy it, thus it will go to waste,” she stressed.

She added the themed for the launching would be Economic Empowerment of Women, and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate it at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
