Man fined for having illegal sex stimulant drugs

SIBU: A cafe operator was fined RM2,500, in default, six months’ jail by the Sessions Court here after he pleaded guilty to possessing 17 boxes of Candy B+ Complex, an illegal sexual enhancement drug.

The accused, Pat Wui Seng, 31, from Bintangor pleaded for leniency before Justice Caroline Bee Majanil yesterday, saying that this was his first offence.

According to the facts of the case, a team of officers from the State Health Department conducted a check at the accused’s premises in Jalan Ling Kai Cheng at 5.12pm on April 25, 2017.

The team found 17 boxes of Candy B+ Complex. The accused had contravened Regulation 17 (a) of the Drug and Cosmetic Control Regulation 1984.

The offence carries a fine of not up to RM25,000 or an imprisonment of not up to three years or both.

At the same court, a female pharmacist was slapped with a fine of RM1,000 in default of one month’s jail for the sale of one strip of 10 capsules of Pengesic, Tramadol HCL 50MG, which contained Tramadol, a poison specified in the First Schedule of Poison Act 1952.

The offence carries a fine not exceeding RM3,000 or imprisonment not exceeding one year or both.

The accused, Kiung Hsia Ling, 34, committed the offence at 3pm on Aug 31, 2018 at her premises in Jalan Wong King Huo.

Both accused paid their fines.
