MIRI: A 30-year-old local man managed to come out of his car before it became fully engulfed in flames last Wednesday evening.
The driver reported spotted plumes of smoke coming out from the engine compartment while driving along Kampung Kejapil Bekenu towards Miri at 5.45pm.
Upon seeing the smoke, the man immediately stopped by the roadside and rushed out. He was uninjured.
Seven firemen from Miri fire station rushed to the scene upon receiving an emergency call.
He was able to get out before the car caught fire.
It took 15 minutes to extinguish the fire.
