KUCHING: A total of 400 participants hoping to further their studies attended the MMS Education Fair held at Pullman Hotel today.

Some 41 Educational Institution exhibitor, locals and foreign ones, were present to guide students in their search for information relating to higher education.

The exhibitors came from such countries as Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, United Kingdom, America (USA), New Zealand and Malaysia as well.

“Most universities and colleges have intakes range from March to October. This is a definitely a good opportunity for students to obtain latest information and submit applications,” said May Tan, the senior operation manager of MMS Education Placement Centre.

“Besides, students who are currently studying are encouraged to attend the education fair as well in order to plan for their further studies in 2020. Some participating institutions will waive the application fee if students apply for admission on the spot.

“Courses available at the education fair vary from business, arts to sciences. Students will be able to obtain latest information at different education levels, from A Levels, Foundation, Diploma, Undergraduate Degree to Postgraduate Degree,” she pointed out.

“Another attraction of the event is the scholarships and financial aids offered by various participating institutions. Studying overseas is often perceived as very costly for parents, however, with the attractive scholarships, bursaries and incentives provided by the institutions, it eases parents’ burden in financing their children’s further education,” she added.

The Education Placement Group organises MMS Education Fair throughout Sabah and Sarawak three times a year in March, July and October for students and parents to find out more details on study options and pathways to match individuals’ interests, career plans, budget and results.

The next MMS Education fair will be held on March 10 in Kota Kinabalu, March 11in Labuan, March 15in Bintulu, March 16 in Sibu and lastly, March 17 in Miri.

Students are advised to bring along their result slips or transcripts.
