KUCHING: A motorcyclist was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at KM 20, Jalan Kuching-Serian today.
The deceased identified as David Basil Rito, 69, hailed from RPR Batu Kawa (Tondong).
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the collision occurred at Beratok town at 3.25pm when Basil was exiting the junction while the 4WD vehicle driven by a 29-year-old was heading straight toward Serian from Kuching.
Following the impact of the crash the victim died on the spot due to severe head injuries. The car driver was unharmed.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
