KUCHING: A senior citizen passed away while waiting for another ambulance after the one he was in met with an accident here.
Lai Kim, 66, was being transported to hospital when the ambulance was hit by a lorry at a petrol station early Monday.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement head Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said Lai, from Mile 17, Jalan Kuching-Serian, died while waiting for another ambulance.
Earlier, the ambulance from Siburan clinic was hit by the lorry while both vehicles were waiting to refuel.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1)(A) of the Road Traffic Act 1987.
