KUCHING: Domestic Trade And Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen has approved a grant of RM3,000 for the fencing of All Saints Church, Kampung Koran Plaman near Serian.
DAP Serian branch chairman Edward Luwak said in a press stated a cheque for the amount was handed over to the church committee treasurer Rama Laak.
The church committee chairman thanked the PH government for the contribution and said that although the amount is small it is of great benefit to the village church.
Rama said that the money would be used to build a fence around the church on a “gotong royong” basis and to be completed before the upcoming Easter celebration.
