LIMBANG: Some 537 people attended a course and briefing on certification organised by the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) at the civic centre here yesterday.

The programme was aimed at providing exposure to oil palm smallholders on environmental laws including workers’ safety and protected animals.

Cooperation from the Forest Department is necessary to achieve a sustainable agriculture practise.

Registration of smallholders for MSPO certification was also held during the programme as required of them. They can also refer to the nearest Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) office for details.

The next MSPO training programme will be held in Lawas.
