KUCHING: Not only is it against the law, but not wearing a helmet could also prove to be fatal. A 22-year-old motorcyclist died instantly in a self-accident yesterday at 11.15am after suffering from head injuries for not wearing a helmet.
Mohd Jap Junaidi from Kampung Lintang Baru, Jalan
Kuching/Serian was with his 24-year-old brother when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid on the road along Mile 27, Kuching/Serian Road.
They came from Tapah and were on the way to Kampung Panchor Dayak when the accident occurred. His older brother sustained injuries.
The remains of Jap were sent to Serian Hospital for autopsy.
Serian police chief DSP Aswandi Anis confirmed the case and said they are investigating it under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.
