KUCHING: Bau police arrested four persons aged between 24 and 31 for drug peddling in a house in Kpg Krokong, Bau at 7.40am yesterday.
The raid, acting on a tip-off, found the four, all unemployed from Kampung Belimbing, Kampung Kaman and Kampung Bogag, Bau with ten transparent blue straws of various sizes and six small transparent plastic packets of various sizes containing substances believed to be syabu.
Bau Police chief, DSP Poge Nyaon confirmed that the four were detained under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drug Act (DDA) 1952 and Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 as they were all tested positive for drugs.
The drugs seized weight 5.26 grams with an estimated value of RM550.
Two of the suspects were found to have past records of drugs peddling.
Under Section 39A(1) of the DDA 1952, those convicted are liable for a maximum of five years jail and whipping while those found guilty of drugs consumption could be fined up to RM5,000 or jailed not more than two years.
