KUCHING: The 11th Battalion of the General Operations Force (GOF) here arrested an Indonesian and seized timber logs and heavy machineries valued RM1,101,800 in an operation dubbed Ops Libas Tuesday afternoon.
Enforcement officer, Supt Rosdi Inai said acting on information received, 13 MACC personnel with three officers went to Kampung Pati Kenyalang, Jalan Ensengei, Serian after receiving information of illegal logging activities in the area.
The Indonesian, aged 28, who has no legal document was found at the site and was immediately arrested.
Police seized 1,003 timber logs and two heavy machinery. The case was referred to the Forestry Department for further action.
