KUCHING: A ‘Muzium Warisan Darul Hana’ will be built to display artifacts and historical information pertaining to Sarawak’s Malay culture here.
The RM3 million heritage museum is a part of the Sarawak government initiatives under the Darul Hana Development project.
It will be built around the Darul Hana Mosque.
Besides the museum project, the Islamic Garden costing RM 8 million will also be built. This garden project is expected to be completed in eighteen months.
Rural Electricity Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the museum is to ensure that the Malay cultural heritage will not be forgotten but preserved.
“With the museum, our younger generations will be able to appreciate the local Malay art and culture,” he said during the Darul Hana Carnival 2019 at Darul Hana Mosque today.
Earlier, Dr Abdul Rahman who is also the Pantai Damai assemblyman said that other developments included the 721-acre site that has been identified for housing development project, which is expected to be completed by 2030.
The said housing development project involves 12 villages along the Sarawak River.
The communities will be relocated to their new homes at Darul Hana in stages, he added.
