MIRI: The intense and raging bushfires in Kuala Baram near here caused panic among parents whose children are studying at SK Kuala Baram II when the fire was seen approaching the school area today.
Fortunately, tireless efforts by dozens of firemen managed to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Following the incident, the school was ordered to close today.
Meanwhile, Miri Fire and Rescue Zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong when contacted today confirmed that they managed to contain the fire and keep the area safe.
“Smoke from the wildfires that fill the air in the city was from Kuala Baram but now the blaze has been slightly contained,” Law said.
