KUCHING: A total of 163 individuals received state awards and honours from the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in an investiture ceremony at the Astana in Petra Jaya, yesterday.
Leading the list of recipients of Darjah Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) were Place Borneo Sdn Bhd director Gracie Veronica Gelkie and Sri Aman District Council member Sia Bik Jiu.
Four persons received the Pingat Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) award. They were Jasni Jubli, Prof Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman, Janggong Sambut, and Mohamed Imran Narawi who received the award posthumously.
Nur Huda Mohamad Narawi received the award on behalf of Mohamed Imran.
The Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was awarded to 10 recipients.
Thirty-one individuals received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) and 30, the Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS).
Fifteen received the Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK), 39 were bestowed the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) and 32 received the Darjah Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).
Among those present were state Public Service Commission (SPA) chairman Datuk Abdul Ghafur Shariff.
