KUCHING: Sarawakians have proven to the world that unity in diversity is the key to success and making Sarawak a peaceful and prosperous state. This was pointed out by Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang at Kampung Tematu charity dinner in the village multipurpose hall on Saturday.
“Hence, I would like to remind everyone that when facing any situation, whether political or economic, we must always be united and join forces to ensure Sarawak is safe and prosperous.
“Indeed, the prosperity and peace we are enjoying today is a result of the respect and tolerance our people of diverse races and religions,” Lo said.
He also reminded the village development and security committee (JKKK) and other organisations in the village that it was their responsibility to intensify efforts to educate and guide the village youths who wree their valuable assets and to emphasise on developing human capital among them.
“Sarawak is made up of various races and religions and the spirit of unity has been in existence for a long time. “If we do not imbue the spirit of confidence in our youths they will be easily be influenced by negative elements which can destroy the unity among us,” Lo pointed out.
“We must also realise that we have no choice but to continue to unite in this beloved state of ours, Sarawak.” Lo also lauded Kampung Tematu Recreational Club for its initiative to raise funds to organise activities.
