ALEXANDER Vincent (GPS-Ngemah) requested that the state government construct more telecommunication towers, especially in Ngemah.
“There is still very poor reception in some parts of the Ngemah constituency,” he lamented.
“The existing towers should also be well maintained to improve service,” he added.
Meanwhile, he said the communities living in theRejang Security Command (Rascom) Resettlement Area, namely Ng Tada, Ng Ngungun and Ng Jagau, which consists of 65 longhouses and a population of 4,000,were promised by the state government five acres of land per door.
He explained that during the communist insurgency in 1972, the communities living in the remote areas of Ulu Sg Tada and Ulu Sg Ngemah were asked to move and resettled at the said resettlement area, and had to give up their ancestral land.
“The government then promised them the land for farming. However, the matter remain unattended until today because of the lack of land nearby.
“And they have to use a small piece of land for farming in order to earn a living,” he said.
Therefore, Alexander urged the state government to provide a piece of land near the resettlement area to ease their burden and at the same time allow them to continue their farming activities.
