KUCHING: Three men were arrested at two locations in Bau this morning. Two of them for drug peddling while the other for drug abuse.
According to Bau Police chief DSP Poge Nyaon following a public tip-off at about 8.30am, police raided a house at Jalan Sg Tengah, Kampung Duan where two drug peddlers were inside.
Police also found a plastic packet containing 17 pieces of blue straw tubes believed to be syabu weighing 2.97g.
The two were detained and will be charged under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
The drugs seized were worth RM200.The two aged 22 and 25 from Singai, Bau were also tested positive for drugs.
In a separate operation at 9.15am today, police arrested a 19-year-old boy at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Jambusan, Bau for drug abuse. He will be charged under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
All the three did not have previous convictions.
Poge urged members of the public to provide information to the police. He assured them that their identities would be kept confidential.
